Triglav Lakes Hike: Double Lake | Guided Ful-Day Adventure from Bohinj, Bled

We start our hike at Planina Blato, a scenic alpine pasture above Bohinj, and begin our gradual climb through the forest. Soon we reach Planina pri Jezeru, where a charming mountain lake lies peacefully among the trees. It’s the perfect spot to take a short break and enjoy the tranquility. There’s also Hut at the lake, where we can stop for a refreshing drink before continuing deeper into Triglav National Park.

Our trail then leads us to Planina Dedno Polje, a beautiful wide pasture surrounded by high peaks and traditional shepherd huts. From there, we continue to Planina Ovčarija, another peaceful alpine meadow with open views of the surrounding Julian Alps. The path slowly gains elevation as we follow one of the most iconic alpine routes in Slovenia, unveiling ever more dramatic scenery along the way.

Eventually, we reach the highlight of the day – the Seven Triglav Lakes Valley. Here, nestled by the stunning Double Lake, we stop at the Hut at the Triglav Lakes, where we take a well-deserved rest. You can enjoy a simple but delicious warm meal, relax by the lakeside, and soak in the breathtaking alpine surroundings. The hut offers hearty local dishes and refreshing drinks in a peaceful, high-mountain atmosphere.

After lunch and time to enjoy the lakes, we begin our return journey along the scenic path, retracing our steps through pastures, forests, and rugged landscapes. On the way down, we take in the last views of the valley and peaks – tired but full of new impressions and unforgettable memories.

This full-day hike is ideal for experienced hikers looking to discover one of the most stunning and emblematic landscapes in Triglav National Park, where glacial lakes, mountain huts, and timeless alpine beauty come together.
