Walking Distance

This tour includes several short and easy walks on mostly flat terrain.
The walk from Kranjska Gora to Lake Jasna takes approximately 30 minutes on a well-maintained riverside path. At Zelenci Nature Reserve and Fusine Lakes, walking is easy and optional, with wooden boardwalks and lakeside paths suitable for most fitness levels.
The total walking distance during the day is moderate and suitable for most travelers.

Passport or ID Required (Italy Border)

As part of the tour, we briefly cross the border into Italy to visit the beautiful Fusine Lakes.
Please bring a valid passport or EU ID card, as border checks may occasionally occur.

Weather & Clothing

Weather conditions in the Julian Alps can change quickly, even in summer.
We recommend bringing a light jacket or extra layer, as temperatures near alpine lakes can be cooler than in Bled or Bohinj.

In case of rain, the tour still operates, and the alpine scenery often becomes even more dramatic.

We begin the day in Bohinj at 8:00 AM, then pick up guests in Bled at 8:30 AM, and set off through the picturesque Upper Sava Valley, heading toward the Julian Alps.

 After a short drive, we continue through the Upper Sava Valley toward Kranjska Gora, enjoying panoramic mountain views along the way. We arrive in the charming alpine resort town of Kranjska Gora, where we begin our day surrounded by the peaks of the Julian Alps. Together, we take a relaxed walk through the village center, learn about Slovenia’s strong skiing tradition, and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere. Along the way, we stop for photos and soak in the first breathtaking alpine views.

From Kranjska Gora, we follow a scenic riverside path toward the stunning Lake Jasna. As we walk, we enjoy fresh alpine air and beautiful mountain scenery. At the lake, we admire the emerald-colored water surrounded by dramatic peaks. Here, we take time for a short lakeside stroll, a coffee with a view, and unforgettable photos before continuing our journey.

We continue to the magical Zelenci Nature Reserve, the vibrant green source of the Sava Dolinka River. Walking together along easy wooden boardwalks, we explore the crystal-clear springs and bright emerald pools set against the backdrop of the Julian Alps — one of Slovenia’s true natural treasures.

Next, we stop at the world-famous Planica Nordic Centre, home to one of the largest ski flying hills in the world. Here, we learn about Slovenia’s proud ski-jumping tradition and enjoy impressive views of this unique alpine sports venue surrounded by mountain scenery.

We then cross the border into Italy and discover the breathtaking Fusine Lakes. Together, we enjoy a peaceful walk around the lower lake, admire the stunning reflections of Mount Mangart in crystal-clear waters, and take time to relax and enjoy lunch in this spectacular alpine setting. In just one day, we experience two countries and some of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the region.

On our return journey, we drive through the peaceful Radovna Valley — one of the most beautiful and less-traveled alpine valleys in Slovenia. Surrounded by forests, mountain pastures, and views toward Triglav National Park, we enjoy a tranquil and picturesque ending to our day in the Julian Alps.
